Classic Mini Wanted for Which Car Magazine

Which Car Magazine are looking for a Classic Mini to help to help celebrate 50 years of Which Car Testing and have asked the British Mini Club to help. Please read the following and if you own a Classic Mini and would like to take part please contact Which via the links at the bottom of the article.

I wonder if you can help? I'm putting together an article to celebrate 50 years of Which? car testing. As the Mini was one of the cars we tested in our first issue in 1962, we'd like to compare a classic Mini with the current BMW version. The feature would go into Which? magazine (nearly 600,000 readers), Which? Car magazine (our newsstand title) and on YouTube as web video.

If any of your members has a fairly early (1960s) Mini available (preferably not a Cooper), we would like to use it for photography and some basic tests. These would be conducted at MIRA test track in Nuneaton, Warwickshire by experts. They would comprise a handling (swerve) test around some cones, acceleration and braking. If there is time, we may also try to measure exhaust emissions in the lab.

We can source the new Mini from the BMW press fleet, but finding an older car is more difficult. Obviously we would be as gentle with the club member's Mini as possible, and we are happy to pay for a new set of tyres or negotiate some other payment. At no point will we put the car at risk of damage.
We'd need the Mini for at least a day and preferably two (to allow for photography, video filming, etc), but could arrange the photoshoot near to the club member's house.

The rough deadline for the article is early November, so we'd potentially be looking at a day during the week commencing Monday 17th October to borrow the car.

Could you let me know if anyone has a suitable Mini available?
