Dr and His Clubman Hearse win Car Of The Show

Dr Stuart Chance with his incredible Extreme Mini wins Best Mini/MINI of Mini Fair 2012. A superb transformation of a Clubman Estate into a Hearse was wonderfull to see and even included a coffin in the back. Although the coffin was being used for the MIni's ICE system with fitted speakers. Even sporting the number plate 'GON 2L' which of course reads 'Gone 2 Hell' !! All done in good taste of course. It was good to see the Extreme and Rat Minis on display which included some highly customised MInis and 2 Mini shortys, one being a Classic MIni and another a new MINI. Unfortunatly 3 of the Rat Minis had a problem on the way to Mini Fair and unable to get into the halls they put on an excellent display outside the main entrance. Which attracted a lot of attention.

Robin Hood Mini Club won the Best Club Stand with a fantastic display using the International theme. Although the Birmingham MOC deserve a mention for spending all day dressed as Fondant Fancies. Well done everyone, now the Robin Hood MC have a chance to choose the theme for Himley

Hopefully the Extreme Minis class will be back at our future shows. Sponsored by Branson Automotive (Autoglym) and Footman James each class winner received Autoglym products worth nearly £70.

I enjoyed the show its was very busy with loads to see & buy. althogh i do own several classic minis i am also a big fan of the New MINI and my next new car will be a new MINI.I did not feel their was any anti BMW Mini from the British Mini Club in any shape or form I dont think the only club with a BMW MINI was shoved into a corner. The spaces were allocated probably in the order they were booked. We have BMW Minis in our club and we could have used one if we had wanted (we have in the past)However there is still a vocal minority out there who like to bash trash and pull down anything New MINI but i also think some New MINI owners are paranoid and seeing hostility when there is non.

    @ Tom,

Its comments like that that help create the divide between MINI/Mini owners. As an owner of both, where does that put me. As for the "BRITISH" comment, im sure BMW owned Rover in the 90's. Maybe people who owned Minis while being manufactured under BMW ownership should be ousted like us MINI owners. It doesnt shock me, it just saddens me.....

I must admit, i felt a bit out of place in my BMW mini ... even though i have owned three BL minis in my time. I will still be joining the BMC though shortly.

I think you will find new minis actually designed in this country and if I'm not mistaken last time I checked they were also built in this country apart from the countryman so they are british BMC welcome them so why can't we come along.

after all this is the BRITISH mini club, most probably set up with the motive to be more geared at the BRITISH mini's throughout the years, might be worth going to a bmw show if thats what you're looking for as opposed to being shocked

As usual nothing fo new MINI owners. I only saw 3 new MINIS upstairs and 2 club stands were shoved right in the corner. I noticed that the judges spent less than 2 minutes at those stands. A bit of a disgrace really at this shows that events like this ( in my eyes ) are geared towards the classic scene. i think this yeas show will be my last BMC event. Unless that is, more effort to include new MINI's is shown........
