The British Mini Clubs British Mini Day at Himley Hall 2016 included a fantastic and unique display to celebrate 15 years of production of the Generation 1 MINI. First introduced in 2001 the redesign of the MINI by Frank Stephenson has proved a massive success. Now becoming ever more available and affordable for the younger generation to become involved in the MINI scene. With some starting to personalise the MINI to their style including trying to run as low as they can go.

The display around the lake proved to be very popular and attracted a lot of attention during the very sunny day. It was a wonderful siight to tsee so many on display and all the owners enjoying themselves. Hopefully this will start of more display to come for the early MINI.

Please enjoy the video and the images from the show.

We are always on the lookout for videos of our shows, meets and events. This fantastic video of our show at Himley Hall was shared with us on Twitter by @MiniMadness it gives a lovely feeling of the relaxed atmosphere of the day.

Created by @miniMINImini.com they told us "I'd never attended the Himley Hall show before despite it being one of the oldest on the MINI show calendar, But the British Mini Club was inviting owners of MINI's built between 2001-2006 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of that model of MINI. Despite the distance I wasn't going to display my MINI around the picturesque lake. The show takes place in the grounds of Himley Hall which has a huge amount of space to stage a show like this. That meant a huge dealers area in addition to the numerous cars and clubs on display. The weather was amazing and being so far north usual stamping ground meant there were a great many unfamiliar MINI's of all ages on display'

26 degrees of British summer sun heralded the arrival of the start of the British Mini  Clubs concours season at Himley Hall. What perfect weather for an excellent turn out of entrants in both the concours and Show N Shine.

As we have said before the quality of the concours Mini's increases every year. We have even started to see images posted on Facebook during the build up to the show of all the hard work going on to get into the Premier Final at Stoneleigh in October.

As always our judges had a very hard time as all the Mini's are so good. Eventually from all the class winners Steven Moore with his tremendous 10 year old Generation One MINI GP1 took the ultimate crown of Mini of the Day. This is the very first time a modern MINI has won this award. Steven has improved every single year and is a stalwart of the British Mini Club concours scene. He takes the time to listen and always seeks to improve, always looking at changes and upgrades. Well done Steve this award is very well deserved.

Show N Shine continues to grow with a very strong line-up of both classic and modern. This is self judging and it was good to see all the entrants taking the time to have a look around the cars in the Show N Shine and casting their vote. Excellent to see so many taking up the chance of being in the showground and showing off their Mini's to the public without the pressure of concours.

Great turnout of clubs from around the country who were given the option of creating their own theme, what a great time the clubs always have at Himley.  Midland Mini Club chose Pirates of the Caribbean - getting people to walk the plank, the Tamworth Mini Maniacs took on a film theme from each decade of Mini on their stand -then to the winners, Stoke Orange Boxes with a superb Willy Wonka display.

Thank you to everyone who attended Himley Hall helping to make it a massive sucess. Special thanks to members and friends of the BMC who gave up their precious time setting up and helping the whole weekend run smoothly.  We are the driving force of Mini events in the UK.

To celebrate 15 years since the very succesfull launch of the modern MINI back in 2001 the British Mini Club are putting on a display of Gen 1 MINI's at our Himley Hall event on the 8th May 2016. Himley is between Wolverhampton and Kidderminster on the A449. An event for lovers of all things Mini.

The MINI range included the MINI One, Cooper and Cooper D when introduced in 2001. Known also as the R50, the R represented 'Rover'. In 2002 came the much sought after Supercharged MINI Cooper S known as the R53. Many prefer the Supercharged MINI to the turbo replacement. The whole range had a facelift in 2004 and ended with the limited editions of the Park Lane Cooper and the Checkmate Cooper S in 2006. Plus the amazing GP1  The Gen 1 Cabriolet (R52) ran from 2004 right up to 2008.

If you are lucky enough to one of these beauties built between 2001 and 2006 for the hatch and 2004 and 2008 for the open top we would love you to take part in our displayaround the lake at Himley. A magnificent setting for such a wonderful era of the modern MINI

Raffle Mini Winner at Himley 2015

The annual British Mini Day at Himley Hall saw the British Mini Club again raffle a top quality Classic Mini Limited Edition. The Mini 30 on offer was a one owner, low mileage example with a G30 number plate. Could this be the last Mini we raffle at Himley? It's possible as Mini's of this quality are getting harder to find. Judging by the reaction of the rather large assembled crowd at presentation time we had better get searching for another. So if anyone has a quality, one owner classic Mini they wish to sell at a reasonable price please let the club know.

Anticipation was building in the crowd as the well deserved trophies were presented. £1 raffle tickets sold until the last minute to give everyone a chance. Dave Hollis on the microphone and the girls from Footman James ready with a stop watch, remember just one minute to claim the prize or it's drawn again.

Away we go.. a young lady from the crowd stepped forward to draw the winning ticket from box. After displaying the keys to the crowd they waited for the numbers to be called.. White.. 2..2..6 A cry of YES!!!! from nearby and a very lucky 17 year old John Hill from Herefordshire ran forward to claim his prize. The winner also receives £250 towards insurance kindly donated by long term show sponsers Footman James

Remember to visit our dedicated Footman James page for an insurance quote for your Mini

Enjoy the fun below and just think the next British Mini Club raffle Mini could be yours.. John informed us via Instagram when they arrived home that he intends to keep his Mini 30 and bring along to future show. We can not wait to see it again.

Himley Hall 2015 - Results

What a fantastic time at the British Mini Day at Himley Hall , good weather, big crowds and and a superb display of Mini's of all shapes and sizes in Premier Concours Round 1 and Show N Shine. Massive congratulations to Alan Slater and his top quality Mini Clubman 1275GT TAK 489J which won 'Mini Of The Day' with a cheque for £250 and a trophy along with his class winning trophy.  Although, Alan did not have it easy, as Steve Moores GP was also a contender, the judge looked at both cars three times, he could only split them with a stone chip. This shows how serious the entrants and our judges take Premier Concours. The UK's leading concours competition for all Mini's. All class winners go forward to the Premier Concours Final at Mini Fair 2 18th October. There is a second chance to qualify for the final, you need to win your class at MiniFest on 6th September.

We have to give a special mention to 12 year old Josh from Shrewsbury, you may remember he won his Mini 35 in the raffle at Mini Fair a couple of years ago. He brought it along to Himley concours and never stopped polishing all day long. He was awarded a special award of best paint which his Mini very much deserved.

Over 50 Mini's entered our popular Show N Shine competition. The self judging worked very well with the majority of forms returned. This is certainly something we will continue at future events. Thank you to everyone for taking part making it a wonderful display.

As always clubs put a tremendous amount of effort into their displays, Midlands Mini Club managed another win although other clubs are getting close, however it does get disconcerting to see men in dresses. :) it's fantastic to see and very enjoyable fun.
